About LinkBacksHey there all, my name is Rod and I live in Comox. I have had aquariums off and on for the better part of 30 years. For the last dozen or so years it has been a small community freshwater tank.
Last weekend while buying a 33 galleon tank to replace the smaller one we have been using I came across a deal on a 180 galleon tank and well now it is in the garage. The plan is to move it into the house this summer after doing some cleaning and work on it and the stand.
The tank will be a freshwater community tank with live plants. It has been years but I do have experience with a 90 galleon similarly done. Did I mention that that was years ago and also while living in North Van... I have noticed that the gear has changed a bit. So any help, warnings on the pitfalls or any other advice on starting up this size of tank will be appreciated.

Welcome to BCA. When you decide to start on this project, there is a "Tank Journal" section in this forum. Post on there with all of your ideas of what you want to keep as far as plant species and fish species, and you will find that many people will gladly give their opinion and advice on everything from water parameters to the type of filter and light to use.
