    Red face Hello fellow Hobbyists!

Hi everyone! I've been on the site for maybe a week now and it's due time for me to introduce myself. My name is Jenni and I love keeping living things all over my house .

Its like a small scale jungle in here of tropical plants, reptiles, fish and doves. Oh and I can't forget my BF and 5yo daughter . As for tanks I currently have a planted 8 gallon in which my Albino LFBNP, Betta and 2 Pea Puffers live, a mini paludarium, 12x12x12 exo, with a few White Cloud Mountain Minnows below and a thriving carnivorous plant above, and am working on setting up at 25 gallon tall tank. (Any advice on setting up my new tank would be greatly appreciated! So far I have a Fluval U3 and 24" light canopy - need to find the correct bulb??)

Aside from all that madness I fix cars for a living and since I can't be bothered to purchase lovely particle board furniture from places like IKEA, I build my own stuff out of wood! Our free time is spent 4x4ing and other fun outdoorsy things!

    Should I post some pictures?

    Hi Jenni,

I tried some carnivorous plants but had no luck, hope they're all thriving for you! Welcome to BCA and thanks for the introduction, I hope you enjoy your stay!

    Cheers,
    Chris

    Thanks for the welcome Chris!

Yes the carnivorous plants can be tricky, and the primary killer is so simple. Tapwater. I buy reverse osmosis water and never fertilize... I do stick a bug in one of the pichers every now and then though. It's been doing well and starting to outgrow its home! I will however, have to try a mimosa ("sensitive plant" the leaves close up when touched - not carnivorous) again. Plants take a lot of time to care for! I think I have around 50+ houseplants!!

Isn't our tap water pretty much R/O water with Chlorine in it? probably fish tank water would do wonders

Welcome! You house sounds like it looks fun and humid! We do a lot of the hobboes you do too... Fixing cars and 4x4ing. You part of any 4x4 clubs there?
Let the current take you where you may not always want to go.

Not a katienaha anymore! Knot is tied.
