About LinkBacksI'm very new to the hobby .. have only been at it for a few months, but I have jumped in with both feet, embracing freshwater planted and I'm already addicted
I think I've been to every LFS in the area now poking around - Burnaby, Vancouver, Richmond though I've yet to go into Surrey or Langley yet.
I currently have 2 tanks up and running, a 12 gallon nano cube (just did a journal catchup post for that) and a little 5.5 QT/Hospital tank. I'm also piecing together a 15 gallon rimless and have just about attained everything to get rolling. I will journal this one too.
I'm big on supporting local brick and mortar over online so if anyone knows of some decent stores that cater to planted freshwater please let me know. I have discovered both King Ed and Aquariums West (until the moving prep) seem to stock plants and planting supplies for fresh water, but thats all I've really come across so far.

We are an amalgamation of many different hobbyists here. There are dwarf shrimp, planted tanks, cichlid, goldfish/koi, pleco, catfish, betta, oddball, community, marine (FOWLR), and reef enthusiasts to name a few.

BCA has a wicked crew of sponsors -the brick and mortar type- that can help you with plants and livestock. There are also members who are incredible with plants (Edge and wsl are two who come to mind) and critters, so take a little time to check things out.
