My dad had an aquarium stocked with goldfish when I was a kid and i've always had fond memories of them. Two years ago I bought a 55g aquarium starter kit and bought numerous small fishes until I decided to just have an oscar. I grew my oscar from 3" to about 7" in span of a year until one fateful night. I came home and saw that he jumped out of his tank and was lying stiff as nails on the kitchen tiles.
I guess I learned my lesson.. to keep a glass hood on at all times. Anyways that was a few months ago, now my aquarium is bare but I still have my filter running with no fish.
I've decided to set up a planted tank instead and I've been researching it until I'm ready to dive in.
That's about it for now. Hope to learn a lot here and also to get advice from the community. Cya!
