    Default new in town

Hello- I sure could do with some helpful information here. I have kept fish since the early 1960's , learning as I went - as the times and 'fish keeping' knowledge changed and evolved . Now I sometimes struggle and almost sink with the new technology and ideas compounding them -what used to be 'kept simple' now involves T5 HO's, CO2 , lots of fertilizing and very frequent H2O changes-all for a 'simple' Amazon planted tank . But I love it otherwise. Help needed- just moved to Okanagan valley, where do I go for good aqua plants and tropical freshwater fish and advice ? I used to travel 3 + hours by car to get stock and advice in Calgary, now we are way too far West for that. Any advice please for this area ?

You could always ask members or our sponsors (i.e. Canadian Aquatics\IPU) about shipping.

Welcome to BCA and thanks for joining us!

    Cheers,

There's a mobile fish shop in penticton. Andrea. She delivers around the okanagon.
I think she advertises in the local paper.

    Welcome to BCA, sculptor !.

We are an amalgamation of many different hobbyists here. There are dwarf shrimp, planted tanks, cichlid, goldfish/koi, pleco, catfish, betta, oddball, community, marine (FOWLR), and reef enthusiasts to name a few.

For plants and fish, I believe April and Canadian Aquatics both ship year round. I also have been known to ship plants during the warmer months . As far as advice goes, I suggest just reading posts/threads here and and asking questions when you need more answers.

    Enjoy your time here !

    Best Regards,

    Stuart
