Marineland Stealth heater

Hello I purchased a heater about a month and half ago from your Richmond location. I found out yesterday that the tanks temp level had dropped from 82 to 60. I had a couple of causalities one of them being my adult female ram that had paired with the only male in the tank. anyways the marine land heater indicates that it is on but no heat is generated
I don't believe i have a receipt or the box as i had misplaced it and someone most of got rid of it. Can I still take it back to see what is wrong with it?

Yes I'm sure I entered my membership during the time of purchase. I'll bring it in to the Richmond location on Sunday
