    Default Rock Q

Hi, I bought this rock at your BBY location yesterday, I'm not sure if it will change my pH? I was told it wouldn't but I'm not sure now because it almost looks like it has rusty bits that rub off on your fingers? I washed it well.

If it will affect my water quality I will pull it and maybe use it dry in one of the reptile cages but it would be a shame as it is pretty.

put it in a bucket of water over night and then test your ph to see if it differs from your tap water. Try to keep the water to rock ratio as low as possible while sill submersing the entire rock.

Odds are it will not affect your ph but with out knowing what type of rock it is you won't know for sure with out testing it.

By the image I think it is our new Honeycomb rock, if so we tested it for pH and it had no impact. I believe it is sold in Bonsai shops as Dragon rock, or so I have been told.

Yeah, it was listed as honeycomb rock, thank you.

And thanks for the suggestion j2daff, I'm going to keep a very close eye on the ph in that tank

Speaking of bonsai rock, I'm looking for some interesting angular rocks for a couple of small aquaria. (2 gallons) Maybe something like the honeycomb rock in Keri's pic. Do you have rocks like these at your Richmond location?

There should be some left, call Richmond directly because I know this rock was very popular and was already running low. We wont have a new shipment until April so grab it while you can!
