Default spider web looking things in tank

After doing my water change, I noticed there were some spider web looking things in my tank. They were very easy to see with the bubbles from adding the new water. They are all over! In the corners, around my thermometer, reaching up from my gravel, as well as along the sides of my tank. It isn't taking over, but it does concern me.... anyone know what it is? Maybe an algae of some sort? Should I wipe them off? Has anyone else seen anything like this?

Need more info. What are your water parameters like, what size of aquarium and how long has it been running?

40 GAL. nitrate were a tad high, but are at 0 after the water change. Has been running for about 6 months. In the past it had been running for years, but the past is the past.

Interesting, I do know what you are talking about but not exactly what it is. A picture would help but manually removing it will likely do the trick. It may even be actual spider webs, if they were on the inside surface before the water change they could have been introduced to the water while filling. I believe webs would maintain their structure when wet like in nature. Interesting. Does not sound like anything to worry about though.

Awesome. Thank you so much for your swift answer. *phew*
I tried to take a picture but you cannot see the webs in them, oh well.

Impossible unless you did a 100% water change.

Thanks for that. Actually, I consider 5ppm a tad high. Changed the filter media. Possible. Thanks for jumping all over me though No wonder I hear about people not liking to use these forums.

As for the veggies, I haven't no... I just manually took the stringies out and have no problems. There were no problems to begin with just a simple inquiry.
