    Default juvenile silver arowana

Hey any aro experts or any fishperts insight would be truly helpful. I purchased a silver aro about 8 inches in length about 5 days ago from king eds he was fine ate first day in my tank but my 5 inch Jaguar started picking on him so I decided to move him to my 50 gallon to grow him up a bit but moving him he squirmed out of the net to the floor I got him washed off and moved him in he seemed stressed so I added stress coat he even ate late last night I awoke to find him having cloudy eye and filmy substance across his body I turned the temp up a touch and added a proper dosage of melafix but I had to goto work I'm extremely worried about the little monster am I correct in my procedure or I'm I going to need something other than melafix. Thanks in advance.

keep the water clean. temp around 84 is ok. add some salt. melafix helps. silver aros are pretty strong fish. cloudy eye will go away in time. just keep the water clean and the fish will be fine.

Completely normal its just some slim coat/physical damage on the side and eye that hit the ground, I find It always looks worse the day after the injury but it's just part of the healing process the slime/white cloudiness will clear up as he heals.

I agree with warm temps and clean water it should clear up!

Sorry too hear it, some times even tough fish dont bounce back, unfortunately a bit of added stress can be all it takes too push them over the edge.

    awww RIP arowana.
just a tip, when they get too much stressed, arowanas can also be very suicidal and may jump from the tank. give them some Oscar tankmates to cheer them up, just put a divider
