at that size 15-20 bucks, depends on market, local PU sells them at 4" for 29.99, I laughed at them so they lowered price to 2 for 30 for me.

I'd pay 30-40 for one if it were over a foot long

IN the end price depends on the market and buyer. Spotted/flordia gar's aren’t hard too come by to those who know where too look. You dont see them in shops all that often simply because any large sized pred's catering too a limited market for most shops it boils down too why bring in a fish that might sell when you can bring one that WILL sorta thing.

Out here on the east coast a while back every PU (really our only pet shops in this area) brough in dozens of them.

My guess is Mirido brought in a few thousand 3-5" ers on sale when the season hit and they spread them too every pet shop in the country.

Sad for the gars but works out great for me as a bargain hunter since I’m sure there are now a few dozen spotted gars slowly outgrowing people’s tanks all over Moncton. By next fall Kijiji will be loaded with cheap/free 10-14" spotteds!
