tank mates with my stingray

Well this is a monster fish question but also a smaller fish question. I am buying an 11" motor stingray and for a few tank mates I bought gold severum's. My question is how big do i need to make my severum's before i can put them in the tank with my stingray? i know that they have to be bigger than the stingrays mouth but i was wondering if anyone could give me more of a size.

for an 11" motoro i would say at least 5-6" just to be safe.

damn thats a lot of growing up haha there only 2.5 I got them super cheap because they were all beaten up by a puffer fish

get some grow pellets and power feed them you will be surprised how fast they can grow...lol

i used to have 8" jumbo sevrums 8 of them to be exact. sevrums all get killed eventually. took about 1 year and $500 worth of real nice super red sevrums were all gone.the part that buged me most is the rays only killed them for fun not for food.i would find beat up sevrums and a few days later they would die off

it also depends on the ray. i have a 18" ray i keep with small 3-6" geophangus and she doesnt touch. some are fish killers and some are not. youll only know if you try.

I have kept 3" severums with 10" Motoros before. It can be done. Just gotta have severums in tank first and comfortable, and feed them floating food. The rays should leave them alone as long as their well fed. Severums rarely go to the bottom of the tank unless feeding or breeding.

hmm seems my marble female would float up to the top and slowly drift down on top of sleeping fish at night to kill them..
i lost alot of 3-4" silver dollars this way only have 4 left out of 12 now about 5-6".

Interesting. Maybe its just because my tank was heavily decorated. Almost all my fish slept in caves.
