    Nice!

I have bought a Whelan Rack (Costco) and planning a similar setup.

Have a few questions - hope you don't mind:

    - Did you have the 60 one custom built? Height? by Whom? That is Plexi Glass?

    - I think there were 4 shelves - you took one shelf out for extra space?

    - Did you put a plyboard below the tank (on top of the steel mesh) to protect the glass bottom?

    - Any tips on maximizing the use of the rack?

Thanks in advance for any tips.

    - Cheers, Kim

    - Did you have the 60 one custom built? Height? by Whom? That is Plexi Glass? I bought the 60 from a friend. It is very unique as it is only 12" high but definitely made of glass.

    - I think there were 4 shelves - you took one shelf out for extra space? yes I removed a shelf. I needed room to get a net in there to catch fish but of course working on a tank with no room above it is a pita

    - Did you put a plyboard below the tank (on top of the steel mesh) to protect the glass bottom? no The tanks are on the steel mesh. All those tanks have raised plastic edges so no glass actually touches the mesh and the weave is close enough to give all round support

    - Any tips on maximizing the use of the rack? just do the math. If you are going to run tanks longwise (all my tens) make sure the rack is 24" deep

Thanks in advance for any tips.

    Good luck with your project.

    Hi Rich -

I was worried about sitting the tank directly on the steel mesh and was planning to put something on top (i.e. styrofoam, plywood/board). Good to know that I do not have to worry about that.

Ideally, a 60x18x12 or even a 72x18x12 would be great for my 3rd tank - but I may have to settle for a 48x12x12 tank - long but not too high.

    Thanks again!

    Cheers,
    Kim
