Hi,
I am hoping someone can help me please.
Now that the weather has got cold (water temp around 3C), the pond has been winterised for a month or so, and the koi have just been sitting on the bottom as usual.
I check on them every day and noticed what appeared, from 4 feet above them, to be carp pox on one of them. I netted the fish in question and closer up it does not appear to be carp pox after all but some other ailment that I have not seen before.
The skin appears to have a lot of yellowish/white lumps that look like warts (hence why I thought it was carp pox) that exist all over its body. I would have thought the water is too cold for parasites now so is it some viral or fungal problem?
I also noticed when it was sat on the bottom that it only seemed to be using one fin to move around/steady itself. I can see nothing wrong with the fin and it did use it when I netted it (clamped fins indicative of not feeling well?).
Anyone have any ideas please?
Many thanks,
Graham
