    Question HELP - Pond Repair

OK so my son decided to purchase a 180gal stock pond for his turtle, as we couldn't find a large enough tank for her within his price range.

Hubby and him were working on setting it up today, and hubby thought he had moved it out of the way enough while he was cutting some wood, but it wasn't and he cut the pond about 2" near the bottom on the side.

My question is, is there a SAFE way of repairing this pond so we can use it? Obviously, we would like to not buy a new one, but its gotta be aquatic safe for her since she will be in it just as she is in her aquarium now.

    Thanks in advance.

Kim, patches for swimming pools are cheap and effective. they're clear, and self-adhesive. you can even put them on underwater.

Fiberglass will not stick to that type of material. Your beast bet is to find out what composition the thing is made of. Look on the bott of the tub. There should be a series of 3 letters to tell you what it's made of. The letter will be capitalized and could be ......

why not try silicone 1 kitchen and bath. it is used to seal large tanks I think if put on thick it would hold and would cost about $6

You can also use a heat gun to warm it and get it to its original shape ( if the cut has distorted the area around the hole ) then take a soldering iron or an old wood burning tool ( if you know what i mean ) ans use it to melt the area back together .....this will work in most cases , I have a plastic welding kit here if you want to play with it . Try to trim a sliver of it off and place into a glass of water...depending on wether it sinks or floats will give me a better idea of what it is made of.
Will this be placed into the ground by chance covering the cut ?
