My pond has been shut down since November when my dogs ripped the liner out of my waterfall, so this week I have been busy re-working my waterfall so I can get my filters backup and running. I started from scratch again removing all the rocks from the waterfall. I came across some concrete slabs and used them as the base on either side of the waterfall. I had some left over liner, more than enough to do the waterfall but this time I left extra on the sides so I could cover the edges with large rocks. I have been bringing home large granite rocks all week from here and there (not saying exactly where) and slowly but surely have been building up the sides of the waterfall. Some of these larger rocks took all my strenth just to get them into my truck. Anyways I am just about complete with the new waterfall, probably just need a few dozen more good size boulders and it should be finished. Now to add some new greenery all around. No chance of the liner folding over and emptying the pond, or having the dogs being able to get at the liner this time. I added a valve to the main waterfall hose so I can divert the water into the yard when I want to do a water change or clean the pond. I netted all the fish, put them into a large container, drained the pond, cleaned the filters and refilled the pond. Took a count of the fish and we have 20 koi and goldfish swimming happily, playing under the new and improved waterfall. It still needs to be tweaked a bit as I will have to cut some excess liner from the front of it. But good for now. Have added before and after pics.http://s1223.photobucket.com/albums/dd503/clancy2001/
