Here but not here (at the same time)

This isn't really a problem, but I've noticed something strange. If I exit my browser without logging out, BCA thinks that I'm still here and leaves my name on the roster of those present, though I'm gone.

But when I open my browser and come back to BCA (on that computer or another one), I have to log in again, though from the list of names at the bottom of the opening page it looks like I'm still here.

So, sometimes I feel like I'm here at BCA, yet not here at BCA, at the very same time.

Is this something new? Or have I always had this Schroedinger's Cat thing going on?

I have this same thing happening on my user name ever since a few months ago.

I still have to log in more than once every time I try to login.

This is the time in seconds that a user must remain inactive before their login session expires. This setting also controls how long a user will remain on Who's Online after their last activity. 900

Others may be referring to that but I was just noticing that sometimes when I leave BCA, shut down my browser, turn off my computer, and so on, that BCA leaves my name on the list of people here even though when I return (and my name is still on the list of BCA members viewing the forum) I have to log in again.

This is different from when I log in, then go somewhere else via the browser and return and am still logged in. BCA has logged me out -- I have to log in again-- but my name is still on the list before I sign in. So, BCA makes me log in (doesn't recognize that I'm there)but still has my name on the list of people there.

It used to be that if I closed my browser, BCA logged me out.

This doesn't cause any problems except that it appears that I'm spending much more time at BCA than I really am. I'm just curious! It was a bit a surprise to drop in from my parents' place to see that I'd been here the whole day, lol.
