LFS reviews?

It would be nice to have a section where ppl can chime in and review the LFS they've been to. I don't want it to turn into comment battles about LFS's. I just want something that'll show ppls experiences/reviews of places locally. I think we're lucky here in the GVRD to have so many fish places to go to. I'll drive anywhere...for an hour if a place has got the fish I'm looking for. If I know before hand of what the place is like...if the store is reputable, anything that would help or prevent me from making any mistakes, that would save alot of time for everyone.

Pet boutique north van. aquariums west downtown by bc place. Fantasy aquatic,in Vancouver,kramers and fish n more In surrey, pet lovers in abbotsford,puppies;fish n critters in Langley. 192 and #10 highway. He has a lot of-Africans.
Helps if we know what kind of fish your looking for.

im specifically looking for fuelleborni, the only place ive seen them is at King Ed's. I'm still waiting for Tom @ fish n critters to get some in. Those are pretty much my two options other than mail order.

but...i'm thinking about something more than just myself. here check out this link of this one site in washington state.

im not looking for a section to bash stores or give plugs. i just wanna be a safe/responsible consumer and i think something like this would help ppl make the right decisions on who they can deal with.

probably would be best on a different website since people bandwagon jump when someone negative reviews a store. Plus there may be issues with sponsors getting a bad review :P

I'd run it past a few store. See what their response is. I'm not sure it's a good idea. There was already a list of stores.

personally, i think it is a great idea. I feel that a store's reputation is only controlled by word of mouth. There really is no better place than here for this kind of thread. If a store gets a bad review, then it probably deserves it, and if it gets an un-justified bad review then there will be customers happy to correct it.

While I think the good intentions are there, I feel as though the whole concept will go south in very little time. I agree that people should be in the loop/know about the good, bad and ugly LFS. I just feel that if BCA were to go ahead and do something like that, they may be looking at defamation lawsuits shortly thereafter. Defamation lawsuits could be blowing it out of proportion, or not.

A separate thread/section geared towards negativity and positivity will snowball out of proportion, and as most of society looks at things, people tend to see the bad before the good.

Agreed.a lot of forums have been threatened with lawsuits. Some carry big insurance.
Petshops do more than just sell fish.They sell hamsters, budgies, small animal supplies etc. How many are fish only petshops? I can think of two. Families and kids and beginners are most of the stores main buyers. Forum people are a very small percentage of their business. 3 percent statistically.
Everyone has their neighborhood or favorite store and everyone has differing opinions and expectations.
