A "like" button?

Possibly this has been asked before, but could we please have a 'like' button?

The 'thanks' button is great but I often see people thanking posters when they really mean that they liked their post (because it was witty, they agree with it, etc).

There's a difference between being thanked for offering advice or a free emergency heater, and being thanked because you're having a birthday.

He could probably implement a Facebook like button within the message, but probably not otherwise as I believe it's copyrighted by them.

Good idea though, I LIKE it!

why not just embbed an actual facebook "like" button.... they don't charge to use it

facebook seriously creeps me out, but if the button doesn't involve me giving them my soul, sure, good idea:-)

This means when a user clicks a Like button on your page, a connection is made between your page and the user. Your page will appear in the "Likes and Interests" section of the user's profile, and you have the ability to publish updates to the user. Your page will show up in same places that Facebook pages show up around the site (e.g. search), and you can target ads to people who like your content. I may not be reading this right, but as someone who wants nothing to do with facebook, this seems an intimate connection.

Okay, maybe not "like" but what about "cool!" or a happy face button?

or use an image of a nice fish for like and an algae spore for dislike
