Where are all the threads going ?

Holy crap is it me or are the internet police all over this web site, whats with the disapearing threads, anything remotley politicaly incorrect and the thread disapears faster than a politcal activist in China .

Sorry Mods - but somtimes it is actualy good to leave a thread up and open for all to see !

lol, i like your comparison.
However I think that as the forum grows people who are new might not take a joke as well as others who know the person or understand what the person is trying to say, so it seems there trying to keep it friendly to everyone, although I do enjoy some friendly banter or jokes as well and i hope we can keep some of it on the forum.

The was one in Ipu's section that vanished, after it had been there for weeks and the other was last nights in FWC , somthing about a member with a puffer for sale !

There was one in IPU called " is IPU ok" , i removed that because it had nothing of relevance as IPU is infact ok .

Over moderated, censored, yes those thoughts have come to my mind on a few occasions. But that IPU thread was in bad taste and I wondered why it went on as long as it did. Too many people post things that they probably never would say in person, it was neither constructive, informative or helpful in any way and I expected it to get nuked much earlier than it did.

The thread to which acidpenser was referring to was a thread started by a member yesterday about a transaction with another member where the seller had allegedly received full payment for: FS - Fahaka Puffer, 5.5" - $50.00, never made the transfer of the fish and had since stopped responding to the buyer. This perhaps could have been dealt with with the feedback system, but if there is a member out there taking peoples money and not delivering, then I would like to know who he or she is. But the thread has mysteriously vanished.

I don't think everyone would agree with that statement but that doesn't matter because no doubt with the negative comments some would leave, & the subject being a sponsor we certainly can't allow any possible negative feelings being expressed towards them. It's not censuring the threads, it's called politics.
I too have noticed the strong swing of the clamps being put on.
The " New BCA " certainly has a new somewhat controlled feel about it that's for sure. Both sides of opinions no longer welcome, just the positive butter em up side of things. Not very interesting when what we are allowed to say & see is so controlled.
Although done with the best intentions I too believe its a little overkill.

We get posts like this from members saying over moderated, but what you don't see is the flood of PM's we get from members saying they DONT think a thread is appropriate and should be removed. When other members see "over moderated" without seeing all the complaints I fear it does lead to a Bandwagon mentality of the insult slinging at mods. Our community is diverse, vibrant, and passionate. Hopes there is plenty to keep you all busy on here

I can suggest those that want to pm to complain do it in the open forum instead.. It's easy to hide and complain .. A lot harder to stand up and be heard.
Don't try to get the mods to bend to your opinion .. post it and see if all agree.. Threads don't need to become a "he said shes said" battle , but occasionally some negative needs to come out and be resolved.. If some get carried away, by all means tell them to cool it , but don't kill threads just because a few don't like it .
