Cichlid group buy!

Hey all,


Have been noticing the lack of High quality cichlids for sale in and around BC seems as if a lot of private dealers and or in home dealers have called it quits.



I have been doing some lookin around and wanted to try a new whole saler and so far with pricing and shipping and quality I have found Dyke masters fish!! This guy has been around for a long time selling fish and has amazing quality cichlids


I spoke with him and he said it would cost 80$ to ship to Vancouver airport and thats for 50lbs worth. He says it works out to a lot of fish able to be shipped.

I am sooo in.. I was trying to contact this guy a few months ago to no avail.. I think he took a bit of a Hiatus...I recently noticed his stuff on aquabid again so I assume he is good to go.. He does have some nice stuff.. Let me know what you decide.

Any ideas on the importation procedures/costs? There could be duties and other fees involved. Anyhow, if that could be figured out, I'm in too!

I just remember when we did the Rapps order, there were definitely some costs and paperwork to be done with customs before we were allowed to pick up the fish. On the other hand, my order via livefishdirect.com came by Fedex overnight and there was nothing extra to do. Shipped cost was the final cost.

I have some friends who are import/export brokers and know of some safe and LEGAL ways of skipping duties etc, IE. Send as "Live water sample" is one loop whole commonly used.

From my understanding from an email from Erik D. its 80$ to vancouver for 50lbs and like 9$ for boxes etc.


If there becomes a great deal of interest I will consider speaking to him about maybe group buy pricing and shipping costs.


After further research I notice a lot of HUGE name sites referring to him, and as well as about almost all of his fish images are on about 1/3rd of internet cichlid sites.

Do you know if he has any updated stocklists? The one on the site was posted in December 2010.

here is some info about shipping he sent me today,

"Typically we can ship 16 8" bags for that air freight price. There is a tarriff on your end but we make ship an invoice that ensures you won't pay a huge amount on your tarriff."

He's got a lot of super nice fish....not cheap but quality is high from everything I've read. I gotta check the list to see if I want some.

there is a place in the states called blue chip he seams to have a bigger selection of fish
