I built a few plywood tanks now and I got my supplies at a fibreglass supply store in PG here. I was even able to tint it to the color that I wanted. Not sure what style of tank you are building but I would highly recommend using 3 " fibreglass tape on all the seams where the pieces of plywood join together. Also make sure that you resin the top edge of your tank because I did not do that and it started to peel the layers apart over the last few years....so I had to throw the first tank away...other then that the second tank I built is still going strong.
Basically, once the fibreglass resin cures and is dry I did 4 coats (1 coat daily) of resin on mine and then I I let it cure for about 2 weeks, it should not be toxic to the fish. Hope this helps and shoot me a pm if you need any help. If you go to Geothermal Aquaculture Research Foundation
they have lots of DIY plans on there and is very helpful......good luck

There is a plastics store in Surrey on 128st that is where I got my gelcoat, I still have a full gallon of it with black tint and the hardener pm me if you would like it, probably sell it to you for $30, I have had it for around 2 years but it has never been opened. Pm me if your interested in it. If you were to go with a potable epoxy it will cost ya alot more money than the gelcoat.

I would stay away from epoxy for liquid rubber, your best bet to have your plywood last longer then 2 years or depend on your tank size. Epoxy will have crack hair line in the long run, it will look fine with water full but it is drain you will notice it. You can get epoxy from marine shop or any industrial plastic. I have mine build with epoxy and after 2 years I get a a small leak and now I am on pond liner till I get my acrylic build.
