January 11, 2012 at 7:15 PM (Come early as the door locks at 7:15 PM)
Place: Vancouver Aquarium Marilyn Blusson Learning Centre
Speaker: Spencer Rozell
Topic: Quick & Dirty Aquarium Stands
Getting an aquarium is usually the first step to exploring the tropical fish hobby, but is quickly followed by the challenge of having a reasonable place to put it. Commercial aquarium stands are either expensive or flimsy, and often not even available. In this session Spencer will walk you through building both plywood and dimensional lumber aquarium stands with some very simple tools. The assembly of these stands are quick, and they may not win any awards for being beautiful, but they function well, and are inexpensive to build.
If you are interested in having a stand built at this meeting, and are prepared to pay the cost of materials and transporting the stand home, please contact Spencer Rozell at spencer@vahs.ca. Preference for stands will be given to newer members. One plywood stand will be built, and one dimensional lumber stand will be built.
