Great idea to do a before and after video. I expect you will see a difference in their colour almost immediately once you start with the Bio Plus Freeze Dried Australian Black Worms.

    November update.

Fish are doing well. Started offering more Beef heart mix to use up what I have left. Been looking into other foods as well. The FDBW are starting to get expensive. Looking at a couple different pellets, flakes, as well as PE Mysis. PE is high in protein, they are a fairly large shrimp and are harvested right here in Canada. image.jpg

I love the shapes. Very unusual pattern on the top one. Have you had any luck getting them to eat mysis? In theory it should be an excellent food for them but I have found they are a bit too large and tough for the discus to eat.

I know Hikari offers Mysis shrimp in 2 sizes. I buy the smaller shrimp for my adult discus in the diplay tank. They love it, tho the grow outs don't seem as interested in it.

Fish are still doing well. Growth has slowed down on the bigger fish and the smaller ones are catching up. Im still not feeding nearly enough but am not home most of the day. Even with an auto feeder I wish I could feed more. They like the PE Mysis but it did take a while to accept larger frozen meals vs the FDBW.

I screwed up my last order of FDBW and ordered spirulina by accident, it will be interesting to see the color fade.

I picked up some Angels as well. Put a Blue Pinoy in there and he was starting to bully despite being quarter size. So now he is down with my Tony Tan Red Dragon male who keeps the Angel in line. I also picked up 5 Albino Angels on a black friday sale. I have started moving them in with the discus now they are about quarter size. 2 have made the trip so far. They dont bother the discus and are quiet friendly. They seem to settle the discus and make them not as jumpy.

Thanks for the update. Slow but steady growth for the final 4 months of the contest will have them in a good position.

Not much to say about the fish. They are all approaching the same size now.

We are closing in on the last few months of the contest and I am already making plans for some upgrades and am looking forward to the next batch of fish.

Not much to report again. Fish are swimming and growing, though I still feel I am not able to feed them enough. I am doing 95% water changes 2-3 times a week now. These fish must be nearly a year old now. I am considerably behind the control group fish. I feel it's not being able to feed enough and I don't have a constant drip set up. Next time I will try something a little different.
