Had a special deliver show up at the Charlottetown airport today!
I'm very excited to start growing out these beautiful fish. I've been keeping community tanks for over 15 years, but just started keeping discus about a year and a half ago. I currently have a 108 gal planted tank with an assortment of Tangerine pigeon blood, Checkerboard and Blue Turquoise discus.
My new arrives are currently setup with:
- 20 gal tank
- Aqua Clear HOB filter
- Air stone for extra aeration
- 86 degree water
- at least 5 daily feedings of a variety of foods (Mysis shrimp, CAF Freeze dried black worms, and homemade frozen beef heart food)
- daily 90% Water changes
Once they grow out of the 20 gal, they will move to a lovely 45 gal bow front tank. So far they are doing well, schooling along and checking out their new digs. Leaving the light off tonight to allow them to settle, so I will post some pics tomorrow.
