hi from burnaby, 180g freshwater community

Hi,
A couple of months ago I told my elderly dad that if he wanted a fish tank, I would maintain it. He decided on a 180 gallon tank, and I decided it would be a planted community tank.

Fast forward to now and we have 6 red phantoms, 12 silvertip tetras, 6 congo tetras, 8 corydoras sterbai, 6-10 red cherry shrimp, 6 amano shrimp, 2-3 mexican dwarf crayfish, 10 guppies, several snails, and one dward gourami... not to mention a tank full of plants!

Anyway, I thought I should join some local groups, because I'm sure to want some advice or to make some trades soon. So far the only thing I know I have lost is a crayfish :rip:.

We are an amalgamation of many different hobbyists here. There are dwarf shrimp, planted tanks, cichlid, goldfish/koi, pleco, catfish, betta, oddball, community, marine (FOWLR), and reef enthusiasts to name a few.

Are you sure the crayfish died. Decades ago I had a wild crayfish from a pond @ QE Park & one morning found a "dead" crayfish next to a live crayfish. Turned out it had molted its shell. So if your tank has good hiding places, could be you found the molted shell too.

Btw I commend you for setting up a big tank for your Dad's enjoyment.
