    Defaultlwanda hybrid pics

This is a fish I acquired from Justin AKA jbyoung00008. The mother was a lwanda and the father is unknown. He is an awesome looking fish and developed his coloration early. He looked to be one of the nicest fish in my tank but last couple days his body has been developing more yellow which is taking away from the color contrast of his yellow tipped fins. Still nice, but looked awesome when his body was very dark and yellow on his fins. Just means I need to track down a pure lwanda.

Anyways, just thought with all the recent lwanda talk that some would like to see pics... I know how much everyone hates pics on BCA

Ignore the photography skills, I am a point and shoot type of guy and have no idea how to work this camera I got for my wife last year... Neither does she

Never saw this thread before. I hope he turns into a beauty for you. Mine died out of know where a month ago. Luckily I gave 1 of his brothers to a friend so I have another one. They are one of a kind and hopefully will be beauties one day. Mine was the biggest of the 4 I grew out and was showing amazing color. Hopefully his little brother can fill his shoes

I redid my scape into 2 large rock piles so maybe time for some updated pics. Will try to get a close up of this hybrid.

This guy started out so nice and was arguably one of the nicest fish in my tank IMO. He had a nice solid colored body with yellow fins. You can see in the pics above that he has started to develop some barring which IMO is taking away from his looks. Hes still a nice fish but I think in time the barring if going to take over and wash out all the nice color.

He went from a nice purple color to almost a silver/black body but still has nice coloration on his fins. When I get my other tank setup as an all male tank I plan to turn this tank into a grow out tank. When that time comes this guy is most likely going to be for sale.

Ya that's my main issue with Hybrids.. Some times you can get an amazing fish but more often than not, the combination of two different parents causes barring and it ends up taking away from the natural colours. To each their own though. Some people love them. In the end, I'm a bit of a purist at heart but that's my opinion.
