    Default Pond in a pot

I have a small 20" round pot, it has about 10-15G of water. It currently has some hornwort, water lettuce, java moss. I keep it out on my covered balcony. I plan to add a handful of gold fish or minnows. For Vancouver weather, would a heater designed for aquariums be good enough to heat it? 100W 300W?

If there's water circulation in the "pond", then even a 50w to 100w heater would be fine if we have a mild winter. It's only when we have those uncommonly cold winters (-5 C for multiple days at a time) that the heater may not keep up with the cold temperatures. You may need to add a powerhead to increase water flow and prevent ice when its cold outside.

I do have circulation at the moment, it's a bamboo ornament pump thing that sucks up water and then drizzles it back in. However I plan to add an internal filter from one of my aquariums when I add fish. So maybe that'll help with water flow as well?

Rosie red minnow are inexpensive and stay small no heater required down to 40F.
    if gradual/acclimated.
