TANK PARAMETERS

pH 6.4
GH 2-3
KH 3
TDS 193
Tank is not newly setup.

Have two Juvenile Apisto borellis (~1") in a 25 gallon heavily planted tank. They love to hide but never come out for feeding time and I fear they haven't been getting food for over a week. Since getting live food is a stretch for me, I've tried frozen bloodworms, frozen bbs, micro pellets, flakes. Nothing seems to entice them to eat. They are active though, peeking in and out of foliage and surprisingly, one is starting to actually show colour. Maybe they are still adapting to their environment? What should I do? Thanks.

How long have they been in the tank?
As long as they look healthy/active/colorful, I don't think it shouldn't be a problem. If in doubt, do 10-25% W/C. W/C never hurts.

I'd say they are finding food that gets left or in the plants. I don't see mine come out either but the older albino ones now come up for food. Took them a long time .

I've had good luck feeding any of the stuff you listed to my A. borellii. I made a point to feed as soon as I got home for the first few weeks, until commotion around the tank became a "holy smokes! FOOOOOOOD!" cue for them.

They are active and they don't seem malnourished. I haven't seen one poop yet...

Yeah I hope that day comes soon. I'll have to keep being patient and persistent.

Good luck, and if you end up with a pair of females, let's talk. One of the "females" in my trio looks to be a sub-dominant male. If they start squabbling, I'd be interested in trading one of the males away.

From what I see right now, I think I may have 2 males.
