The Axolotl's at Fraser Aquarium caught my eye too. I had thoughts of buying one until when researching the Axolotl I read: "The water temperature should be kept cool, between 57-68 F (14-20 C), and never above 75 F (24 C)". An Axolotl would boil in my house during the summer months :(

Wow, I don't think I would know how to keep my water that cold unless I had a chiller or a dedicated airconditioned room. Even on a cold say, without heat, my house only gets down to about 64F in the dead of winter.

Sometimes there's people selling them! And definitely not at that price! The last time I heard someone selling it wuz in langley or something! (Talking bout private, not pet shops)
