Does anyone use buffer for their tropheus tanks in Vancouver?

I think everyone should use some type of buffer. African cichlids or not. Otherwise your PH will fall overtime.

Even for my angels which thrive in soft water needs some buffer... Our water is just too soft

What are you keeping ph/ alkalinity / calcium hardness at jb ?

PH 7.0 -7.3. KH 8. GH 6. That's where I try to keep the numbers to accommodate my plants.

Absolutely! My tropheus are pigs and messy, so with a high bioload and w/o any buffers, the pH is unstable - not a good thing for trophs and any stresses can lead to bloat. Watch for GH/tds for your water too.
