Does anyone know what type of bug this thing is?? I just caught my cat trying to catch it but it looks dangerous with that long stinger thing... I've never seen anything like it before.

thanks for the link- it looks like a cool site

i found out through google that this guy is a 'black slip wasp'. Usually they found in the united kingdom or north africa.

I wonder how this guy ended up over here
