"Red fin stiphodon gobies great for algae"

What type of algae does it eat?

And should they be kept in pairs or trios or ???

Thanks,

Anthony
I have frshwater neon stiphodon goby which are basically the same but different color. I start with 3 but I don't think it matter because they mind their own business, however I do have 7 in the tank. My sister did see them sometimes fight or perhaps I should say challenge each other like most fish.

I saw them eat green spot algae, brown alage and tried to eat short hair algae (I think they are hair algae.)on the plants. The thing need to keep in mind is that they are omnivore which means they will eat fish food. I saw one grab blood worm in mid water. The good thing about stiphodon gobies are they are snake like and can bend their body or head which make them great on cleaning algae on the odd shape Ornaments which is something Oto can't do.

Another note is that my neon stiphodon gobies suppose need oxygen rich tank water, not sure if the red fin stiphodon gobies are the same.

You can see 2 of my neon stiphodon gobies in the picture and how flexible they are.

Thanks April.

I wanted a army of neon gobies, but they are expensive. Island pet sell each about 16 dollars, I bought mine during sale and I still paid about 10 dollar each.

I think they are easier to keep than Oto as you don't need to worry about run out algae due to them will eat fish food if there is no algae. In contrast oto will starve to death if you don't have algae. I know some times people bought too many otos and end up have to feed algae wafer, and it may take a while to get oto eat algae wafer as well. Feeding algae wafer isnt' option to me because my fat albino corys will eat them before oto. The cardinal tetra I bought from April ate algae wafer as well, it just swallow a chuck of algae wafer. They are monsters! .. I bought them in April and most of them are already 1 and half inch big.

Adolphoi Cories

Hey April.
Thanks again for the Adolphoi cories.
Here is a couple pics of some of the handsome little guys/gals. One lazy little guy likes to shadow his horseface loach pals around while they sift the sand.
Phone pics. Zero camera skills.
