Are you using a 5 gallon bucket for your filter? If you are, you only want your filter approximately 1/3 full, as if it is more full you tend to blow the sand into your tank.

No I am not actually farmiliar with that type of filter set up. I just like the look as a substrate.

yah. I am using a 5 liter jug with some fittings glued on. Powered by a powerhead. we'll see how it works :)

I think I am going to redo my 5 gallon gravel tank with filter sand, and get some shrimpy-love going on.
