I have these three wooden boxes which I have used the past few years as stands for a 2.5, 5, and 10 gallon tanks. They would be great for a Betta enthusiast me thinks. I have installed lights in the box below because I was very intrigued to see fish in up light. Fin lights if you will. The lights will keep the tank warm but you don't need to use the lights if you don't want. The stands are very handsome.

so:
10 g tank 5 dollars
10 g box 30 dollars, 5 g box 20, and 2 g box 10.
Also: Aquaclear 20, 15 dollars and 2 3 inch magfloats 2 dollars each.

Or trade for some rummy nose, sterbai cory's, Columbian Tetra's.

these wooden stands with their built in lamps beneath might make them ideal, when used with a tank on top, for reptile enclosures.
