I am doing this on behalf of a friend who was "conned" into buying this fish because of a horrible or simply ignorant salesperson at a pet store. My friend has a 6 gallon aquarium! This fish needs a proper home in a East African ciclid aquarium of at least 30 gallons. He bought this fish for about $25 (he's unsure). I would like to save this poor young guy who has a whole life ahead of him potentially. He is healthy and has strong colour.

Please text Rad at: 778-988-6990 and he will be there to sell the fish. If you can bring a clean plastic fish bag or ziploc that would be awesome! Photo of the actual fish is attached below. Thank you.

I'd be interested if I knew where I could buy others to create a breeding group.

That looks like a Malawi cichlid to me. A type of Mbuna from south Africa. Trets are mostly black and white with some variants having a slight hint of blue. your fish is definitely not tanganyikan. Nice looking fish though.

I would say the fish is a Malawi mbuna species as well. Very likely Demesoni. I've attached a pretty good picture from a quick Google search.
