If there's blue in and /or around the black spot on their sides its female. If the spot is very black, no blue jewels more than likely a male. When I catch I always locate the male fort before I get the net near the tank, catch the male..as soon as the n et goes in the male fades his colours. Thrn I can get a female easier as they show their blue faded or not.
