about a year ago I got a half dozen or so Leopard Frog (L134?, pecolita compta?) plecos from Davej. They were very healthy, but I managed to loose all but 2 over about six months. These last 2 were happy enough, getting really fat and always in their caves, tough to see. Recently I bought three more Leopard Frog places from Spencer Jack. These arrived and assimilated well into the tank. Only the five plecos and a couple pairs of rams in the 20 gallon tank. Bare bottom, ample clay caves. one power head going all the time. Large matter style sponge filter with one air driven lifter tube. Temp 82 degrees F.

I notice the new LFP's from Spencer have a finer reticulated pattern that the original ones from Davej. Gotta say, I like the ones from Davej better

I was walking around Lee Valley store a few weeks ago and they had some plant watering devices unpackaged for viewing. These things are basically a porous clay cone that fits over the opening of a wine or pop bottle and you fill the bottle with water, put the cone on it and invert it, sticking it into the soil around a potted plant, the water seeps out slowly, watering the plant for a prolonged time. The thing that caught my eye is these little things would be great place caves, they come in 2 sizes, I bought a couple of the larger ones and put them in the LFP tank the other day.

was looking in the tank this am and I have one of the newer reticulated LFPs guarding a pretty large clutch of eggs in the new cave from Lee Valley. Yeah!

they are just under 10$ each (for a single spike) at Lee Valley, looks like you can get them cheeper online in pkgs of 4.

Yes Davej has some nice plecos. I got two LFP and two zebra plecos from him a few years ago and they are still doing great.
