I'm no expert but I really think if you were to drain and clean the tank real good & maybe let it dry out for a day or 2, you would be ok. Sounds like it was something to do with the wall, which is a shame it was looking cool. If it was leeching some kind of toxins out, it would probably only exist in the water, and maybe the filter media, I would think. So a good thorough cleaning of everything would probably be all you need to do. Just my 2 cents.
Sorry to hear about the fish losses too, recently went thru that with my 50 gallon after resealing it, 75% died it sucked.

im going to add. i assume that when you put this in the tank, you have your filters off. what was oxygenating the water? gasping = lack of O2.

if you where in victoria, i could totally help you out!

The bubble wand was still going as I was doing it but I think the main cause was of me using the wrong material.

I decided I'm going to replace the tank anyways because it doesn't look very good at all. Bulges in the middle and scratches in the acrylic.
