I would have to agree as well that Amanos are probably going to be a good choice. Plus to me they are easier to keep compared to Otos (who can be fragile). However, I do have to say that I have one Amano and 2 Otos in a mostly planted 10 gallon. Used to have 3 Otos in there, but one of them didn't make it after about a month of purchase (they were bought at the same time from King Ed's). I have the light running on my 10 gallon probably longer than I should as I have algae, but the Otos seem happy their stomachs look good. I always see them eating algae in the tank, and I've barely fed them the Hikari algae tablets that I bought when I first purchased them (have fed them zucchini on occasion).

My Amano was from Pat (Canadian Aquatics). I believe April's also has them.

Yeah just the Otos aren't as comfortable without having more in my opinion and many others if you haven't checked it out definitely use the aquarium subreddit on reddit for information/questions you have.

I agree with you DunderBear. I plan on moving them over in a couple weeks to my 20 gallon that finished cycling the other week (and add some additional Otos). :)
