Looks like he added rocks for stability.You could also use a clay pot any bury it into the substrate.

I meant adding bulk underneath the moss for volume. Something like this:



ADA moss trees I've seen have this crazy beautiful shape to their moss that IMO would be hard to replicate without some sort of base sponge material.

I didn't add a base, but that's a good tip to remember for next time. Unfortunately my moss isn't doing too well. It's all going brown.
