I had hornwort in my freshwater tank (no goldfish, though). Threw the stuff out! It sheds "needles" like a Christmas Tree. Just too messy for my taste . . . although I understand that it is very good if you are planning to breed fishes.

Same. I got rid of my hornwort too in my tanks. I replaced them with Anacharis. I think even cabomba might be better.

Thanks all. I bought some at my local store and it does shed quite a bit. Will give cabomba and other types of try.
