i looking for a larger canister filter. atleast rated 100 gallons+ only kicker is it has to be extremely quiet since it is going to be right beside my bed. a fx5.or a larger eheim is what i will be leaning to but im also a very poor student so price will be a big thing too

I got a rena 4 for under 200$ its rated for 265gal... mine is quiet... ive heard of fx5 making noise... i think 200$ is cheap for a canister and it comes with some media too

If it's going to be beside your bed, don't even think about anything but an Eheim. This is from personal experience. Anything else will drive you nuts. Good luck finding one. If you go Eheim, the classics are the quietest. Go 2217 and Pets and Ponds has them for a decent price.

if your going eheim i would get big als online to price match pets and pond that way you get the better price and 5%off

Its bigger than an FX5 and VERY quiet...so quiet that sometimes I have to make sure it is running...

Wasn't going to sell it, but I am going to get an eheim 2080 soon.

I have had my xp3 for bout 3 years now and no problems whatsoever and I can't hear it at all. If your short on money the xp's are the way to go.
