I am down to three fish in my 300 gallon tank: a Merlion Harmony Cross Back, a male BD ray, and a flag tail. So far it looks like a stable set up.

flagtail doesn't nip at the ray?

The ray is 18+ inches across, the flag tail only about 4-5 inches. The ray tries to jump the flag tail whenever it comes near.

My understanding is that flag tails are only a problem with rays when they are too close in size.

I know someone whose 8-10 inch flag tail got caught by his 24+ inch BD ray and had its eyes sucked out.

Good to know. I've had both be a issue. I had a ray who loved discus heads and a geo that nibbled on the ray
