Got home tonight and found out one of my shrimp died :(

Shortly after discovering it's dead my other shrimp start to come over

Rather than doing nothing, they start eating the corpse...

I'm sure my shrimp heard me freaking out so it started to drag the body away in the corner....

*tear* my poor fire red shrimp :( anyone want to donate me some? :):p

This is common for shrimp, they like to eat the shell as they get calcium to molt. However if they are hungry then they will eat the actual shrimp too!

Was that a painted fire red?
