I had this guy growing out in a 20g with 2 hujeta gar that are about 4-5". I woke up to the Tig with a really big belly and only one gar in the tank. I feed him every 2 days, I guess that's not enough. I still can't believe he gobbled down a fish just as big as him!

That's impressive. I had heard that the general rule is 2/3 of the catfish's body is safe, but I guess not in a Tig's case.

look on the bright side, that means the tig is healthy . young fish need to feed every day twice a day, so your 2 days feed is too long.

Ya. He's definitely healthy. He snaps up prawn quick. I put him in the 20g to get him eating. He wasn't eating anything in the 180g. Might be time to put him in there now. He'll have lots of mbuna fry to snack on if he's hungry. Or move the gar. Not sure. Those Gar are easy to come by, so I'm not that glum about it.

I would move the tigrinus to a bigger tank. a 20g with the tig. and the gar will get the water polluate quickly.

Still can't believe it takes down something the same size.
