Hi I just purchased a light from a fish store in Langley it's a nova extreme 6 bulb light ' I have it on my 72 gallon .
I have 3 white bulbs and one purp/blue for day and 2 blue actinic I think they are for night . I'm using for a freshwater setup and it seems that the blue lights are way to bright for a night light. I'm new to keeping blue lights on at night so maybe I'm wrong until I find out more I've turned them off and am back to 6 lights on during day and then off for 12 hours . Any one with advice please I'm all ears.

The blue actinic lights are meant for Saltwater or African setups, not night time use IMO. The blue brings out the color in the fish. Most people that run blue lights at night are using blue Leds that are built into the fixture.

Is this a planted fish tank?

Becarefull running 6 bulbs for 12hrs a day. 8 to 10hrs is the maximum I would do. Leaving them on that long can promote Algea growth so keep an eye on that.
