We are painting the house tomorrow, I'm just about done transfering my fish from a 20 gal QT tank to my 65 gal tank... my idea is to cover the tank, lights off, with a heavy blanket to spare it and the fish from fumes, leaving the windows open in that room.

Are there any other precautions I need to take? Something I've missed?

Thanks guys,

I would leave a few windows wide open to get a steady flow of fresh air going through the entire place.Doors included too if you are going to stay home the whole time:) As for the fish , an airstone or two to create water movement and oxygen.Watch the temps too as they might adjust with all the air coming through.I dont know if your setup has an open top or hood/glasstop, but make adjustments to that as well.Seems like you got the rest covered and should be fine.

I'll set up a few more airstones to be sure. It is a glass top, but with plastic flaps in the back to allow space for the filter/heater, etc.

Thanks for the advice. Common sense, but just wanted to confirm :)
