The small motor probably burnt out. They can be ordered from Hagen for 35.00. I've replaced all mine killed by a power surge recently.
Good luck.

Did you try removing the motor and cleaning out the impeller housing ?..My older AC's often won't restart spinning after a power outage so I move the intake tube and give the impeller a touch with a chopstick( anything you can reach down to it to nudge it will do ) As long as the motor windings aren't burnt, you should be able to start the impeller spinning again .

I've had enough sticky grime inside before... had to flush everything out with hot water and it worked perfectly fine again!
Does your motor feel warm when it's plugged in? if so, it might still be running but stuck like davefrombc said!
