Has anyone ever used Anthracite in a tank? is it safe?

im perinoid what types of rocks i put in my tank after the last ones almost wiped out all my fish..

If anyone has any nice looking types of rocks they know are safe i could use some advice on what types are safe.

King Ed has a lot of very holey and odd shaped volcanic rock for sale - a bit pricey.

I would really be extra careful with the rocks I put in the tank. If not being sold in petstore or not man made, they may have other chemicals or unwanted elements in them like copper. I myself have found a lava rock ( I thouth it looked like one) that after putting in water for a day, it started releasing white cloudy chemical in the water.

Anthracite? I think that is coal if I remember correctly.
I would not use it in my aquarium. Unknown what it does in water, inert? I don't think so. Sure gives off a lot of fumes (gases) when burnt
