I think the ortegai is papagayo . If that means anything ... What he posted.

yes they are cool apistos. They come from the Ampiyacu river area. This river has 3 eunotus-complex species: A. ortegai (=Papagei), A. cf. ortegai (Pebas), and A. sp. Putumayo (a cruzi-subcomplex species).

There are very hard to identify exactly which species they are unless you can count the lateral spots on the females and a slight difference in the caudal spots for males.

Thanks. It's actually "Pagagei" which means "parrot" in German. There are many more than 3 varieties so that's why I was interested in which one was expected.

The melinis are great. Thanks for the club moss too. I had never heard of that variety, but it is just the type of plant I was looking for.
